Gunmaster don't feel too bad. Last time I went Rifleshooting with a partner I got my butt kicked by a 60 year old man with a bad heart, two bad lungs and Neuropathy* in the hands.
As for that shotgun of your's I wouldn't worry about length that much if you practice enough. Besides inside a home you should be baracading yourself inside and playing Gandalf not Elmer Fud. *hope I got the name correct but it's a painful condition where the lining of the nerves gets worn thin.
