Heard about this on TFB.
Authenticity is always nice, but I really don't think there will necessarily be enough difference between the lookalikes and the real thing to justify the cost of the new rifles and carbines.

Which is still cheaper to do than buy whole new rifles. Besides, we don't yet know whether or not their civilian rifles will be manufactured with all the same features as the current C7A2 and C8A3. Chances are they'll probably offer replica rifles at a higher premium (like Colt with their LE6920 "SOCOM M4" almost-replica), but we should wait and see.
