Anyone find it funny how the most futuristic-looking ship in the US Navy's arsenal is commanded by a captain named James Kirk?

Shotgunning is bad kids, very very bad. If you must drink bad beer in large quantities, do it the old fashion way: the keg stand.

Oh, and um, yeah, guess who pins on railroad tracks 4Jun2014?

Doctor's got me taking Flexeril because I'm a friggin' cripple, and it's supposed to make me drowsy. All it's done so far is make me 1000% going to sleep rather than doing whatever (like "yeah, I guess I could sleep") and make me think things like drinking way too much milk are decent ideas

My hip pain keeps getting worse; I just dipped into the (emergency) painkillers I was prescribed for it, which pretty much never happens

EDIT: oh hey, 3 posts in a row

Cecil Adam's column today is about gun buybacks do they work. (spoilers: no)
"On the unlikely assumption that the number of gun deaths is strictly proportional with the number of guns, the typical buyback reduces the death toll by one-thirtieth of one corpse."

Part of me has to feel just a wee bit sorry for people who fall for gun buy backs but another part of says, "Why didn't you do some research and see how much the handgun is before selling for $50 (anyone ever actually seen even a .22 for this cheap?) or a long gun for $100". I pity the fool who thinks gun buy backs do any good.
