I am (most likely) going to find out tomorrow if I got selected to attend Air Force Officer Training School. Coincidentally, it had to happen at the same time that President Obama is visiting, which means that I won't be able to enjoy his speech because I'll be constantly checking my phone waiting for my recruiter to call/email.

Sadly, it is not to be. At least not yet. I was a non-select for Non-Rated Board 13OT03. From what I heard, the selection rate was only 16% this time around, and they took almost nobody whose degree was not in a technical or physical science-related field (I'm a social scientist by training). Damn sequester...

Guess I'll have to wait 180 days to apply again. I'm also probably going to try the Army and Navy.

So I was just given an entire Air Force track suit complete with two pairs of running shorts and a pair of AF-issue boots (only the jacket fit me), four old patches (two branch tags and two Airman First Class rank patches), a set of A1C rank pins, an Air Force training ribbon, two name tags, and a CD case with several movies and music CDs in it.
