Reminds me of that bit in one of the Star Trek movies where Picard asks the computer for something like "clothes, late 20th century" and this somehow works..
All throughout the show I was hoping that Picard would make such a vague statement and then come out to the transporter room dressed like THIS.....
Well that explains some of the weird stuff I see in the movies when it comes to historically incorrect firearms. Everyone is listening to twelve year old kids!
