Hunting season

Hunting gets you in the woods, gets you in fresh air, and is a good workout walking, and its fun trying to find deer.

So what guns do you guys use to hunt? I either use my Ruger M77 30-06 for Elk and Pronghorn or my Russian SKS for deer.

Marlin 1894c. 158 grain JSP.

I hunt in heavy brush with the odds of a shot over 50 yards very minimal.

Im going to hunt coyotes after deer season.

This year since i was in the high country looking for elk and monster white tail, I used my Howa 1500 thumbhole in a 338 win mag with 225gr accubonds...and as a side arm for the thicker brush areas i had my Glock
10mm with 200gr buffalo bore.

I know that 10mm can be used for predator defense, but how powerful is it compared to a 357 magnum or 45 ACP?

More powerful then both. A 45acp is designed for thin skinned creators like us, yes its 230gr but only goin around 800fps. A .357 in a bear load is 180gr and still only goes 1130fps. NOW!!! the 10mm is a 200gr FMJ going over 1200FPS...thats penatration with power.

A delta would be cool if Colt would put some workmenship into their products...The only guys that make a mainstream 10mm that is worth anything is Dan Wesson, Kimber, and Glock. I personally went with the Kimber and the glock and i love them both.
