3 dots the way to go, or even a bar/dot setup, i hate stock 1911 sights, steel on stell makes it impossible to see contrast over a dark target and is slow to pick up. In about 9 months ill be 21 and ordering a fusion 1911 with 5 inch barrel, 25lpi front strap checkering, hardwood slim grips, extended controls, extended beveled magwell, undercut trigger guard, novak adjustale tritium sights, no front cocking serrations (look ugly) and serrated top of slide with three hole trigger and commander hamer. Not sure on color pattern though

No offense. This is just my personal opinion.

Cause everything the military uses is top notch right....oh wait they issue mostly crap. Find a SWAT team issuing GI 1911s, or get the military model to feed hollowpoints.

Are you responding to me? It's not the military aspect, I just like the classic look. I know, I'm too picky about looks.

The old look really doesnt do anything for me, dont get me wrong, i hate the looks of glocks and such, but things about the 1911 get me, like the finish, and i like a little contrast in colors. Also, when a 1911 is decked out, it looks "mean."

IMHO you can't beat a pre-1917 Colt commercial production 1911 for looks.

I agree with Predator on that one. But just recently my dad got a perfect condition GI issue .45 from 1942 in the shop. It was never issued but was intended for use during WWII. It was beautiful. My dad gave it a three pound trigger instead of the awful 8lb one it had and I was impressed. The retail for it is 2,500 dollars.
