If the light is supposed to be an indicator of the weapon being ready to fire, shouldn't it be facing towards the shooter? Or at least to the side?

Need to get around to watching that movie.
If they're supposed to disable the weapons, shouldn't they be mounted on the receiver? Especially with the G36, I can't see any way it would be able to do anything. Do they have a smaller version for pistols? |

My theory is that besides blocking the weapon off-game, that is the device that allows the player to see the FPS view.
Thats why it blocks the sights. The guy holding isn't using it. The player is. |
