Which movies are you referring to?

Off the top of my head, the only one that comes to mind (from recently) is the "Green Zone", when Matt Damon used a Chinese Type 56-1 in the climax. And he had the stock folded then because he was in a huge hurry and running through an alley, and as soon as he reached his target, he was facing three armed men. I can't see how he would have ever had time to unfold the stock in those circumstances.

I heard baddies in the Middle East don't really aim because of "Inshalah" (They believe that Allah will guide their bullets)

Yeah, as in guide them into nothing or better, guide them into friendly fire.

There's a tribe in Africa that believes that solar eclipses are a giant snake eating the sun, so they shoot at it with machine guns to scare it away. Every time this happens, a few people are killed by stray bullets.

Insha'Allah (God willing). But yes, that would explain it.

(BTW, I think that's the first time I LOLed at something you've written in a long time. You did come up with that yourself, right?)

I remember an interview with a former SAS operator about the Iranian Embassy siege. He said they that the stocks of their MP5s retracted because of the close quarters they will be using them.

Seriously? They fold / take off the stocks so it's easier to hide under a set of manjams. We can't engage if we don't see weapons.

That's a pretty good way to create more terrorists.
