Not really, but original Soviet guns are really hard to get a hold of, in order to be truly authentic. I've worked very hard getting the AK variants that I already have. Here's an idea. Let's say .... I quit taking pics of guns for IMFDB, and hand the job off to PersonOfInterest.

I'm fine with the pic. At least it's a real firearm and not an airsoft clone, like numerous pics uploaded to the site are.

Airsoft pics were usually place holders until the site could get good replacements. You would not believe how many airsoft pics were on this site before I starting taking gun photos for IMFDB. But I wonder how many are numerous? We've been pretty good about replacing most of the Airsoft pics. There are a few but are you still seeing a lot?

This M4 on the Over There page is an ICS airsoft.

And this Sheriff, Co. 1911 used on the MGS4 page can go since someone uploaded a picture of a 1911 that more closely resembles Big Boss'.

Those two are the only ones I can think of right off the top of my head, but I think there were a couple of others that I'll have to relocate.

But what I meant by "numerous pics uploaded to the site" is situations like the incident with MW2 a while back when anon users kept changing out the pics of real M4s and MP5Ks with ones of airsoft clones merely because they were equipped with the specific rail systems used on them in the game.

Well that Airsoft M4 is certainly a beautiful pic. And I've been meaning to take out the M4s and try to change around the accessories so that we have at least good representations of the various models. That M4 though looks too impossibly 'clean' LOL. Again, more on my list of things to do.

The Custom M1911 is tough. If it's a custom job (and moreso if it is not represented in the real world) then it's harder to get a shot of a real gun. We have no choice in the matter.

Right now, if there is NO real world counterpart or it's a weird one off with a rail system, etc. then I don't have a problem since it's not replacing a real gun pic. Besides, who in the world would replace a real gun pic with an airsoft (in identical configuration?)

But replacing airsoft pics is on the list of things to do. One priority is getting shots which we don't have at all or replacing really terrible low quality pics. Those actually make the site look ugly.

I could not possibly live somewhere like California. I'd either say "fuck it" and move or snap and assassinate a politician (and subsequently being killed by the 5-0 or going to jail for life)
