Nice shotgun Astra. I like 870s too. I'm thinking about picking up another one. I got a factory folding stock collecting dust.
and there's nothing wrong with Creed. |

Would putting on a folding stock/ pistol grip/ forward pistol grip change the legal status of my 870? |

Some states might have different laws about it. But most of the time as long as the barrel is a min 18", I don't think it matters.

I'd say go for the pistol grip and stock. It feels a lot better

Exactly. Unless you cut down the barrel yourself, there's nothing wrong with it. Most standard factory models of the 870 and Mossberg 500 are set up to be converted to pistol-grip versions out of the box. Can't imagine they'd do that if it were illegal.

Well that's not the problem. If a state says you can't have a pistol grip, you can't have one, even if you can convert it yourself.
Unless you get a class 3, it is illegal to convert something to full auto.
