Default A nice piece of history...

Spanish FR8 "Cetmeton", 7,62x51, Mauser action, tested with surplus ammo from the 70īs and 80īs, owned by a guy in Argentina:









This rifle is a post-war conversion of the old spanish Mauser M1916 & M1943, it was made during the adoption of the Cetme Battle Rifle, and was issued to second-line troops due to the shortage of the new rifles.

My father owns one of those. It's a nice clean little carbine. They're hard to find so hold onto it. Congratulations.

Itīs not mine (but I want one), itīs from "Cholo" from FullAventura forums, he buy it a few days ago and, according to him, it wasnīt expensive.

Interesting that you have it as an SR8, in North American they're called FR-8s. I wonder if that's a mistranslation on our part? It wouldn't be the first time, the "Type" in Japanese weapons should actually be translated as "Model".

It does have a fairly good kick. Lightweight, 7.62mm NATO and a steel buttplate. But it rates high on the Cool Looking Scale.
