Default can you hook dvd player to computer?

My disc drive is bad, i thing the lens or something, and running discs doesnt work. kind of want to make pages or be able to contribute to some. Is there an alternative, i cant afford a new computer. The only pages I can do are movies I can netflix over computer.

If you've a CD drive on your comp, you should be able to play DVDs on it with no problem.

The just get a new drive. You don't need to replace the ENTIRE computer if the disk drive is broken

You can buy a video conversion kit if you don't already have one. You can hook up your DVD player or cable box to one end via composite cables and your computer via USB to the other end. But it'd probably be cheaper to just buy a new DVD drive, which you'd need anyway. If you get an OEM drive from Newegg or something, it'd only be $20-25. And even if you don't know how to install an optical drive, I'm sure if you ask around, you'll find a buddy who can.

You can also rip off of Hulu, I guess.

Exactly. That's what I did when I got my current drive installed. It's not as easy to do with laptops as desktops, but it can be done.

My brother and I plan to get new computers and our price limit is 1000 in hardware alone and then we build it ourselves
