Okay as some of you know I'm old (41). Espeically by the standards of many of the members here.

I still think that the Apple McIntosh is cutting edge. I actually sw the famous Apple commercial when it aired in 1984 during the Super Bowl. You know the one directed by Ridley Scott and featuring the blonde Amazon with the sledgehammer taking out the big screen image of Big Brother,

I have fond memories of playing computer games on the Texas Instruments TSR 80 or "Trash 80". When I visited the Smithsonian a few years ago they had a technology in America display and both the McIntosh and the Trash 80 were featured. Now that will make you feel old. Really old.

Anyway I have to ask. What is a game mod and a flash game? And why are they such an issue with imfdb. Yes i've read all the posts here, but of course you guys all know what you're talking about. I don't.

Please take some pity on an old man and explain.

The primary reason why there are not allowed is because they are made by amateurs/users/unprofessionals.
I guess the equivalent to a movie would be if a bunch of college kids got together and made some lame film on their camcorder.

If IMFDB allowed mods and flashgames then any swinging dick with flashplayer or modding software could make a page on imfdb and then the site would be clogged with crappy content.

Wow. I simply had no idea. I guess I could have asked my twelve year old son for details as well. Or my daughter. Well anyway thanks. I think I'll stay away from this whole issue and just make pages for old moves and screencap them. That and pages for actors and firearms. That's enough for me. Thanks again.

We already have an ar-7 page, this one is unnecessary, besides, I got a laugh out of "self defense rifle" this was made for emergency hunting, anyone bringing this to war would be an idiot.

Is there anywhere on the splash page that can direct someone on how to correctly create a page? I think it would be good for people to know what the standards are before they create a certain page. Also, is there a way to increase the variety of featured articles on the splash page?
