Pistols are very expensive in Istanbul.
Heckler Koch Usp Comp. Staınless $2874 Sig Sauer P 229 X-Range $6133 Walther P 99 Compact As $3010 S&W 5906 goes for over $ 3K you get the idea. Armalite AR-24 is manufactured here in TR as Sarsilmaz kilinc mega 2000 I need opinions regarding this pistol. Also, how does it compare to the CZ 75 which I can get for about $2K ? I appreciate any help. Thank you. Last edited by ersoz; 02-12-2011 at 06:35 PM. |

What's the deal with foreign countries swapping the periods and commas in numbers? Did us Americans get it wrong one day and tell the rest of the world "nanny nanny bloo bloo i can't hear you" and then carry on?

Well.
I gave up on both pistols. With gun prices this high here, buying rare pistols is making more sense to me. So, I think I will start my own "historically significant" pistol collection. Quite possibly with an Ottoman Mauser C-96.

Can't help but approve the C-96. I like the older ones, not so much the Schnellfeuer though.
Don't mind Mr. Mustache, he's basically Vangelis/Dongs etc plus a few others rolled into one entertaining package. |

I'm sure he'll love it, but...

Is ammo also really expensive in Turkey?

It is very expensive.
approx. 150 US for 100 9x19 cartridges. And you have to have a firearm license and an additional permit to purchase a specific amount of ammo. Any firearm owner can purchase no more than 200 cartridges per year. Buck fifty per shot.. Better not miss. Come to think of it, this might be the reason why we Turks are pretty good shots But. New laws pass everyday and things seem to be changing for the better.
