I really loved The Pianist. I know it isn't a war movie but it has a few good battle sequences. Polanski really captured the brutality of the Germans in the film (I don't like to call em Nazis because I compare to a racial slur). It's probbaly because the guy was an actual holocaust survivor. I also really love Defiance because the performaces in the movie are great, espicially Daniel Criag and Liev Schriber.

I just watched The Lost Battalion. I have to say that was one of the best TV movies I have ever seen. There was some cheesy but it was in small quantites. I just didn't like how the Americans didn't have M1917 Brownings or BARs. I also didn't like the lack of M1903s. It was still a good movie.

The lack of m1903s in the lost battalion is accurate, the m1903 was more of a specialized marksmans rifle, the m1917 was the standard issue battle rifle. I like how there was some m1917 revolvers too, and original m1911s, not a1s. They did a great job with gun accuracy.

Yeah, I've read good reviews of it (as well as the occasional bad one complaining how it's not another leftist anti-soldier propaganda machine like movies such as Stop-Loss were). It's definitely a priority on my list of DVDs to buy.

The Hurt Locker wasn't bad. I showed it to my buddy, who was in the Marine corp and he was yelling at the British merc trying to snipe with the barret. He kept exposing himself, getting shot in the process.

Isn't it more of a racial slur to call them "Germans"? You're implying that their behavior comes from being German. Calling them "Nazis" at least associates their brutality with an ideology rather than an ethnicity.
