I haven't watched it, but this sounds like a more Michael Bay retelling of On the Beach.

I had a pair of CH-53Es fly over my neighborhood a few days ago. Damn those things are loud.

I'm okay with the idea of a Predator remake, and I'm okay with the director of Ironman 3 behind it. I am NOT okay with the writer of Robocop 3 writing it though.

I could totally be onboard with this if they just hired a better writer. Hell, just have Shane Black write the script.

Everyone involved with trying to remake Predator need to be beheaded in a huge public spectacle, because you just know they'll fuck it up. Badly, too

Better to wait until they have something to show before passing judgment, IMO. You might be surprised. The RoboCop remake turned out pretty well despite initial concerns, after all.

That's what I usually do when a remake/reboot comes out.

New Brad Pitt movie in WWII. At about 1:59, I was very surprised to see a Sturmgewehr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OGvZoIrXpg

It looks like he's got it slung at 0:15.

I don't think StG44s are particularly rare in movie armories, and even if they were, replicas like the BD44 are available.

The talk of a Predator remake got me wondering: What ever happened to John McTiernan? The guy gave us the original Predator, Die Hard, and The Hunt for Red October (which might be the greatest four year run in Hollywood history,) but hasn't made a decent film since 1999. (Thomas Crowne Affair?)

I know he did a year for wiretapping or something, but according to Wikipedia, he got out of the joint back in April. Hopefully he can keep working. If Roman Polanski can keep working, I'd like to think John McTiernan can get his career back on track.

How many western WWII films have the STG-44s? This is something you just don't see often.
