Default June 6th, 2011

Every June 6th since I picked up the movie, I pull out the DVD of Saving Private Ryan and watch it.

The Normandy Scenes hit me even harder knowing that THIS IS THE DAY it happened. Thank you WW2 vets. We're losing hundreds of you to old age every day. I am forever thankful for your service

My grandfather was sent in to an infantry unit as a replacement several months before the Battle of the Bulge.

I don't know of any family members of mine serving in WWII (my dad was born a few months after the attack on Pearl Harbor), but I hold in the highest regard all of those, past and present, who fight to preserve our way of life, whether it's storming the beaches of Normandy or or humping the mountains in Afghanistan. Thank you all.
