There's a major difference between doing it in "Off Topic", and doing it AFTER the person's question has been answered. You wanted to know who likes metal, right? Now you do.

You have a tendency to hijack topics where a person is asking a question about a gun, or a movie, and you don't even attempt to answer their question. That's just downright inconsiderate.

I can't believe so few of us are metalheads. Metal and guns go together like PB&J

There's a fine line between sampling and straight dubbing or copying someone elses work, and it shouldn't be seen as a lack of creativity on the song producers part if he samples, not copies, but samples.
The Beats is not 100% complete, either. But I'm telling you, every sound you hear in a hip-hop song came from another song first. The baseline, the drum loop, the synth melodies, anything else. It's either sampled, or it's being played by a keyboardist so that they don't have to apply for a license. But there are almost no original sounds in hip-hop. The entire point of hip-hop is to take existing songs, strip them down, and revive them with new energy.

My point is not to tell you that you're wrong for enjoying hip-hop. I like some of it, too. But strictly speaking, hip-hop is just as easy to criticize as metal. So I'm finding myself in the awkward position of defending another genre that I'm not even big into.

I wouldn't say that. Come to think of it, hip-hop probably goes better. I mean, what other genre do you hear them actually referring to guns by name?

On the other hand, both metal and hip-hop are full of socialist traitors.

Hip-hop maybe, but not Metal. I can confidantly say that they are opposed to any and all types of Gov't, but they are not socialists. In fact if you were to call this guy: a socialist, he might just kill you

I enjoy some metal, but I don't characterize myself as a metalhead, the majority of the music I listen to isn't metal.

Bands:

Megadeth
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Rammstein (big favourite)
Mastodon
Isis (post-metal)
Killing Joke's later work (they transitioned from punk to industrial metal)
Airut (little known Finnish metal band)
Kotiteollisuus (ditto)

I too dig Rammstein! I like a bunch of the songs from xXx specifically/especially the Rammstein song at the beginning, Moby's, and Orbital's.

As far as other metal (harder stuff) goes, I went to a Dragonforce concert and fell in love. Did the same with a band called Turisas.

VNV is a favorite of mine too, but I am not sure exactly what genre they belong to.

I would have to say Trance is the main music of choice for me however.

Being opposed to government doesn't make someone "conservative" or "libertarian". Everybody in art claims they're "against the system", in order to sound as anti-conformist as possible. Also, remember that communism is (in theory) supposed to be a form of anarchy. Usually, whenever rock bands call themselves "anarchists", they're not thinking of free-market, individualist anarchy (the libertarian type). They're thinking of anarchy in the Marxist/anarcho-syndicalist sense.
