The first two look pretty cool. The bottom two, not so much (but that's just because I don't like Katanas/ Japanese weapons. Chinese and European weapons are better in my opinion)

I've taken a lot of kung-fu lessons, and it only brushes on knowing how to use the traditional weapons like the straight sword or broad sword. For Katana, I took classes that are solely for learning how to use Japanese swords. So I'm more on Japanese swords and it's also good to know the happy medium when combining both styles.

European stuff fits me better because I'm a big dude with lots of power. How did Kung Fu work out for you? I took lesson for awhile but ever really got into it. I would consider taking martial arts classes again, but my damn (near crippling) pinched sciatic nerve prevents me from doing so. If I was able to, I think I probably would take up Sambo ( or Krav Maga if I can't find someone to teach me Sambo)

Ever since I saw Kiefer Sutherland use one on 24, I've had a desire to own a Microtech HALO III.

Problem is, laws aside (I don't think MD allows a knife like that to be civilian owned), I can't justify dropping 400 bucks on one.

I've always wanted a Microtech too, but if I bought one I wouldn't be able to carry it around

I've been interested in SOG knives recently

My friend got one of their pocket knives I believe 2 years ago. From what I can tell from handling/using his, they are well built and durable. The only reason I didn't buy one when I was knife shopping the summer before last (because a different friend broke my cheap S&W folder) is because when I tried to open it one handed, it sliced my thumb open

one of my first knives was a plain old folding and one day I reached into my pocket for it and didnt notice that the blade slipped put partly and I cut myself. So I bought a new one with a blade lock on it
