I agree, it's small, but too big for a pocket. I saw an original Russian one at a pawn shop not long ago, pre IJ-70. God I wish I could buy it......

And as a plus,9x18 mm is pretty cheap and easy to get. To you it may seem to be too big to be a pocket pistol, but believe me when I tell you that it is like a PPK to me. I probably couldn't fit more than 3 fingers on that tiny little SIG P238

I agree that it's like a PPK as far as size goes. I'd go so far as to say it's a smidge smaller. That doesn't make it a pocket pistol. I don't know what pockets you mean, but with the clothes I wear, it wouldn't be easy to conceal well. It might fit in the pocket of this one jacket I have, but if I'm wearing jeans and a jacket I'd rather have the thing in a holster so I don't have to worry about a snag as much.

To me, a pocket pistol is something you can drop in your pocket and forget about. The Mak has some weight to it and a little size too, not much, but a little more than I'd be willing to stuff in a pocket. Things like the old Colt 1908 VP and the modern Kel-Tecs are pocket pistols, PPKs and Maks are just highly concealable compacts.

I'm not very good with converting weight measurements, but 30 ounces sounds quite heavy for a pistol the size of a Makarov.

Its 26 with empty mag , and then you ammo. The makarov is a compact, not sub-compact, gun. It also is all metal, no polymer/alloy.

I probably wouldn't stick any gun in my pocket. When I carry it, I'll put in the waistband and wear a (unbuttoned) button up shortsleeve shirt over my T-shirt

Hard to not love a FAL.

And on a side note, I forgot about Kitty Corner Shot.
