Default Old story that still baffles me

It's almost sad that a US Agency like the ATF that prides itself in being very good at their job can really be complete utter morons and dicks and can't tell a toy from the real thing

I am surprised at the stupidity of the ATF. I knew they weren't the smartest people around but after this, just wow.

Oh noooooooo!
You know a 5.56 hits hardest when it's winging out of a 6mm barrel.

I actually must applaud the news anchors in that first clip for not buying wholesale into the ATF's bullshit. Thanks Alexis for not being a ditz!

It's Latin for "Hail McVeigh", as in Timothy McVeigh.

As in the Oklahoma City Bomber? What does he have to do with this topic and why are you hailing him?

Anyway, about Airsoft, being a former player with still some interests, any Airsoft rifle is essentially an empty shell with a special motor the connects to an "inner" barrel that is hidden within the actual barrel of the rifle you see on the outside. A battery powers the motor and when loaded with a magazine, which is also a shell that is designed to carry the bbs, they fire via compressed air. You take all that out and you get pretty much a hollow shell that looks like a real gun. There is no space inside or too much space to drop in an actual bolt carrier, or firing pin and trigger assembly and the "barrel" is just a fake.

His target was the ATF. It's a joke.

I don't remember much about the guy's intention except that he killed a lot of innocent people.

Gallows humor is not for everyone.

Edit: His motivation was retribution for the innocent lives lost at Ruby Ridge and Mount Carmel. A big part of the tragedy was that there was a day care center in the building. Theories abound about him being assisted by Clinton administration agent provocateurs (John Doe #2) with the intention of gaining support and funding for government action against militia/patriot/right wing nationalist organizations.
