Yeah, I'm of the idea that the HK45 Compact is more or less an "official" replacement for the Mark 23 as NSW's "Hush Puppy".

From a technical standpoint, the Mark 23 is a good pistol. But from a practical standpoint, it's (like you said) too freaking big.
