How I spent my weekend.
By shooting NFA Weapons.
I attended the 2011 Saddle Butte Machinegun shoot hosted by the Albaney Rifle and Pistol Association. My friends Mark and Lori Cook were range officers and took me as their guest. Had lots of fun, shot lots of weapons and the best part... Pictures |

I hate you.
(Don't worry, I mean that in a nice, "I'm so jealous of your awesome weekend" kind of way, not maliciously )

Not to worry Hopefully I can someday arrange to get a bunch of IMFDB people to one of these sorts of shoots. Both as a meet and Greet and for research purposes. Reasearch meaning asking questions, taking lots of pictures and most importantly shooting as many automatic weapons as we can afford.
Might not hurt if we can get a couple of the Movie Armorers to let us borrow some non-blank adapted SB Shotguns. . |

Looks like a lot of fun.

as far as the 4.7 round goes can you see why I don't like PDW rounds. I know the 5.7mm P90 round has a boost of about 50% and better penatration than a 9mm but what does the MP7 round have going for it? |

See, I don't even like the principle of a PDW in one of those oddball "penetration" calibers. Yeah it's great if you are fighting guys in body armor, maybe, but I still prefer a shorty style M-4 if I were to have to worry about protecting somebody and I couldn't carry a full size rifle.
