Bates finally got around to sending me a replacement pair of boots, which I recieved earlier. To my surprise, Bates had updated the design to include an annoying-ass stitch that rubs up against the top of my foot

Bates did my boots in boot camp, the heels fell apart and were digging into my skin, they sucked, my danners on the other hand are awesome, confortable and easier to get in and out of with side zip. The bates held a better shine but that only mattered in basic.
