Default 1911 Owners Sound Off!!

For all you 1911 owners, show us what you got, either your own photo or a link to similar model. All variants of the Child of Browning are welcome!
Colt Gold Cup National Match, Series '80.
Remington Rand 1911 from WW2, had been custom modified after the war by the armorers at Fort Benning, Ga. My Granddad's sidearm during the war, afterwards his hardball only target gun, he was on the army pistol team. Sadly this piece was stolen about a year before I was born, but am trying to track it down.

Pictures on the way.

I don't know if you've seen it or not, but here's "Gladys", my M1911/M1911A1 hybrid pistol with a nickel compensator. My dad gave it to me as is (minus the compensator, which I bought with $45 myself) so don't blame me for the condition. The 1911 is my favorite gun hands down, so I'll likely own more 1911s than anything else when I'm older.

Here it is fitted with a 16" barrel and a wooden stock.

I plan to build a custom 1911 sometime in the future using a Para-Ordnance P14 frame and some type of Colt slide (considering between something stainless for less maintainance or a National Match slide for better performance). Colt/Para = "Cara".

That is a nice one GM. That compensator reminds me of the Colts used in The Punisher from '04. And that build sounds like a nice plan, although if you get the slide, go ahead and get the barrel too. All in all some nice 1911's in here.

Man, since I saw your picture, I keep getting the urge to buy one. Have you gotten any range time in yet?

Not to S*** on your rif GM, but it seems turning a 1911, an original 1911 into a carbine like that, sacreligious.

Ordinarily I'd agree, but with the mix on 1911 and 1911A1 parts on that, it wasn't original to begin with.

Here's my RAF-issued 1919 W-Series British Contract in .455 Webley Auto, all matching and original:

And here's my 1943 GI Colt, all matching and original except for the two-tone mag which is for a 1911, not an A1. The round in the picture is an original 1943 Canadian military cartridge (we issued 4000 of them to paratroopers and commandos during the war).
