Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure, but these caps really helped out.

One last thing about actors in my town. Liev Schreiber was seen by one of my mom's friends in a bar last night. Apparently he's still here. Seriously, why would anyone willingly come here (they do in fall for leaves, but in SUMMER (??))

Anyone know why the G36K was chosen for that scene? The film makers obviously tried to be accurate with the guns used in the War scenes at the beginning, except maybe with the Colt Model 733, but to have the G36K in a scene which takes place in the 1970s doesn't quite make sense.

Makes a bit more sense than the M60 being used in WWII, though...

I assumed that was just like a scene transition. Didn't it show him in the helicopter right after that?

Its a movie about a mutant with blades coming out of his hands.....I think a G36 in the 70s is very forgiveable.

I don't think so, it is too square and has a strange color scheme. Perhaps they added a fake launcher so it looked more like a secret fake gun than an anachronistic G36K.

Also, I mentioned in the caption for the M60 image that it transitions to him firing from the helicopter, so it is only BRIEFLY an anachronism.

Yeah the AG36 has that boxy look when observed from the right side.

I don't think the color is a big deal and it could also be a mock up of the AG36 which is why it might be off.

P.S. I'd be careful about posting bootlegs, they have FBI warnings for a reason.

Yeah I know, I only did it for ID confirmations, I refuse to put them on the main site. I'll wait for the REAL DVD to come out.

Well if the studio finds this place, know that we are not doing this for profit. This is for firearms identification and debate. If they have a real problem with this, then the bootleg images would be removed. Studios that owns the rights can be so sensitive sometimes.

Anyway, I another anachronism about the Vietnam flashback is that all the M16s or at least one was seen with the 30 round magazines which wasn't in service at the time. The G36 now that I remember what year it is, is CLEARLY something that shouldn't be there. I guess the director fucked that part up. I can forgive the M733 cause it happened in previous movies, but a G36K with the AG36. That is just stupid. It's like giving a guy in a 20s gangster movie an MP5 instead of a tommy

And saying this is a movie about mutants so we should ignore firearms mistake is just an excuse not to think. The people behind the X-Men movies wanted to put the comics in a world like ours without fancy laser guns and give the characters with guns REAL guns. So don't use the bad excuse that this is a sci-fi movie to say we should forgive the gun problems.
