I was taught high thumbs, on a sig thumbs forward will ride the slide stop and cause failure to lock back. I shoot crossed thumbs now though.

I tired crossed thumbs case it seems to make my grip tighter. Also seemed easier on the draw (ive also been shooting my revovler a lot and crossed thmbs is the way to go thumbs forward will get it blown off.)

I have some footage of the 586. I think I shoot it crossed thumbs. You'll see it when I post it this evening maybe.

Apparently springfield ejectors are fairly loose and some models were not pinned. maybe a loose ejectors causing your problems?
