Default Guns of Appaloosa article

The Spring 2009 issue, #61 of "Guns of the old west" has a five page article on the guns of the movie "Appalossa". I haven't had time to read it yet so I can't tell you what is in it, but I hope this is of use to people here.

David.

We get to chat with Steve Karnes, the guy who built the 8 Gauge shotguns for the film, his User name Phoenixent on the site, so we have some superior knowledge of the guns in the film. I'm trying to rent it so I can screencap it for the site.

I"m really hoping I can go to the rental place on Saturday and rent this to screencap. It's a movie I REALLY want to see.

Thanks for the issue number of Gun of the Old West. I see if I can pick it up and read what was said. I have a whole series of photos during the construction phase of the 8 Gauge project. I know that is not in the article as no one asked me about it and Gibbon Ltd. was closed by then.

I really liked this movie, it seemed to sidestep a ton of ridiculous movie things in regards to both the love story, and the view of morality.
Good stuff, and the weapons were nice too!

Hey Steve, if you have those pictures handy could you use them to fill out the SK 1878 page more? If anyone else is like me, I'm sure they'd love to see the process of building the guns.

I will get a couple more photo on the page and put a little bit of construction history to it when I get back during the week.

Guns of The Old West is a great magazine. I don't purchase a lot of gun rags like I used to when I was younger, but this one is a favorite of mine, as the movie Appaloosa has become. Really loved it.
