I've been planning on joining this forum for a a while and I think this question I've got finally gave the push to go ahead and do it. I've got a rifle here which belong to my grand-father and my dad would like to take it and maybe pass it down to my kids. So I'd like to know if anyone can tell me around when it was made.
It's a Marlin rifle. Model 336. It's a 30-30 caliber. It's serial number is 2415XXXX. If necessary I could post some pictures if this isn't enough information. It's at least 20 years old. I've looked on the Marlin Firearms website and none of the guns they have look like this one. They all have different stocks. Any help would be appreciated. And I'll continue to post on these forums even after this question gets answered. Even if my "arsenal" is a lot smaller than everyone else. Last edited by Kinzer; 06-01-2009 at 03:07 AM. |

While I personally don't like wiki, it said your rifle was made in 1974.

Dude, X out the last four digits of your serial number immediately!!! As soon as you read this, edit your post and X them out!

Got it, man. I removed them. I didn't know that would be a mistake, posting the whole thing.

Why must one remove serial numbers from the internet? What could someone possibly do with the serials?
