Good and Bad business decisions by gun companies:
Sometimes a company does something great, sometimes....they suck.
Heres some I see: Bad: S&W adopting Internal Locks. There is pretty much nobody who likes them and many people boycott for some reason. Bad: Ruger. Jumping In bed wit the liberals, supporting the AWB, then going even farther just selling 5-round mini 14 mags and nuetering guns. Good: Ruger. Ditching bill rugers ideas, introducing cool new guns, bringing back standard capacity mags and setting up a rep for best customer service in the business. Bad: Dan Wesson. they were known to have the highest quality 1911s in their price range. The CBOB was the most loved.....wildly popular. they discontinued half their line this year and introduce expensive as hell new guns. Epic Fail. Good: Savage. introducing the accutrigger and accustock, making much better rifles, for not much more cost. Excellent rifles/ Bad: SIG. The whole magazine issue where they were selling with one instead of 2. Since fixed. What have you seen that you liked, and whats made you think "WTF?" |

Magnum Research: creating the POS known as the Deserty Eagle
CZ: Making all of the newer models of their pistols really ugly Colt: Creating the Colt All American 2000 SIG: Changing production methods, making all of their pistols unbalanced Ruger: Trying to sell the MP9 to LE units who were already using the MP5 H&K: Denying the civilian market all of their non-shitty products Dornaus & Dixon: Bren Ten- 'nuff said |

I know this seems unlikely for a S&W fanboy like me to say,but...
Bad:S&W, for making that revolver with a explode-o-matic aluminum cylinder Bad: S&W, for their tiny little Airweight revolvers that have grips so short that you can't even fit 2 fingers on them Bad:S&W, for making Hogue grips stock on alot of their revolvers, making it uncomfortable for people with big hands (me) to handle/fire them |

Smith just released a 686 plus 5 inch, but it looks ugly. The SSR looked cool in 4 inch, the 5 just turns me off. Its got the "pro series" barrel profile.

The performance center 686? Yeah, it's pretty ugly. It's like tearing up a brand new Shelby Cobra and putting spinners, a spoiler and hydraulics into it

Good: Browning; for every single thing they have ever done
Good: FN, same as Browning Good: S&W, for not taking advantage of their customers by not making everything way more expensive than it should be Good: Colt, for all of their revolvers Bad: Colt, for discontinuing the Python |

How about Remington putting cheap barrels on the Etronix rifles when the advantages of electronic priming apply mainly to match shooters?
Or Winchester going to push feed on the post-64 Model 70s? |
