Its a real good deal, they are 100% as far as function goes therye cheap due to things like a small scratch in reciever, etc. A blemish or too. Minor details that saves you money.

I've thought about picking up one. My Mini-14 will be fine for now. I think there will be some barely used deals in the next few months. So I'll keep waiting.

edit:
Also CDNN has them listed for $1200 plus $150 in accessories 5 mags, cleaning kit etc.
Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for pointing these out to me. Maybe the LE6920 wouldn't be so out of the question after all, though I'd have to ask, since I'm not going to be paying for this one.

Thanks, but I'd have to be sure first. I've gotten screwed over by these no-name dealers in the past. Plus, I dunno if we want to go THAT cheap.

CMMG aren't no names, check around on gun forums, they have a great rep. There more known for making lower recievers but there full guns have a great rep too.

Well, as it turns out, my Dad's decided that we should go Colt. Which is fine by me, but the only problem is that he wants to buy one of the guns stocked by our local FFL, which is priced at $1,500. I've been looking at other FFLs further away, some of whom have the LE6920 for cheaper prices, but he doesn't seem to want to drive there even though it could save us money.

Guess he just doesn't trust online business...

Colts overpriced, they say "were the original" and people flock to them. There ar-15s and 1911s are good, but not special. Whenever someone says "by the colt, its original" I laugh at them......I laugh even harder when someone says "mines better, its mil spec". MREs are mil spec and taste awful. But, the Colt will be accurate and reliable, if your willing to dish out the money youll love the gun.

I agree. Colt is over priced for a weapon system that is pretty easy to produce

Trust me, I've told my Dad the same thing, but it's his money and his call. He's kinda OCD and is willing to pay through the nose to buy something as long as it's as close to the original as he can get.

Plus, unlike me, he's afraid to buy guns online because he's kinda naive about how it works on the 'Net. He says he won't buy a gun unless he can inspect it up close before he buys it. Then when I pointed out that one of the ARs that Predator20 linked to on GunBroker was held by an FFL located less than 2 hours from us, he said he didn't want to have to drive there. Basically, unless it happens to be sitting on the dealer's shelf within a few miles' driving distance, he won't buy it. Which is kinda ridiculous.

At the end of the day, it doesn't affect me because I'm not paying for it. But I do wish I could reason with him and save us money that could be used to buy the inevitable 1911 that I've also got on my list of "must own" weapons systems.

Is he planning on getting a full length AR-16 with a 16 inch barrel or a carbine?

Definitely a carbine. We agree that we want an M4 look-a-like. Since we're going Colt, that's the LE6920. This one:

Of course, I'm sure we'll buy other uppers and stocks in the future.
