OK, is it the Vector or the Kriss Super V?

I'm seeing so many people refer to it as the Vector that it's ridiculous. And while I'd like to think that it's all of the people who just played Modern Warfare 2...even our own page regarding the TDI Kriss Super V calls it that. Was the gun named the Vector at some point beforehand, or did that name just stick after MW2?
