Goodbye FAMAS, Hello HK 416
Apparently the French Military will be adopting the HK 416 rifle as their new 'infantry' rifle in the future. I kinda laughed because so many of the European news sources never mention that the HK 416 is a gas piston modified 'upgraded' version of the traditional M4/AR15 platform that's been around in the U.S. since the 1960s. (One can argue that the XM177 series was one of the fathers of the M4 carbine)
Anyway, I wonder how long it will take, and how long French Movie or TV shows will start showing it? Of course real life doesn't matter to Video Game developers (case in point - the preponderance of the Pancor Jackhammer) http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...kly+Newsletter

If we accept that John Browning was the one true firearms God; then we must accept that Eugene Stoner was his prophet.
None of the Frenchmen I interacted with had anything positive to say about le bugle.

At least the 416 won't rip cartridges apart inside it.

I thought the adoption of the 416 is from an unconfirmed source. It hasn't been made official that the French would indeed adopt the 416. I hear it's still undecided between that and the SCAR.
