Yeah, it was. It was changed the absolute minimum amount to avoid legal problems, and there are still sections where it's written as if the guy's secret is being a vampire rather than being a kinky asshole.

It's not a bad game. I only played the campaign though.

It's not a bad game but it's not a good one, and it's hugely overhyped by people who want to read sophistication into it that isn't there.

I figured as much, which is why I decided to wait until it wasn't very expensive to think about getting it

I was impressed by the voicework though. Nolan North, what ISN'T he is, and Lt. Adams was played by none other than Kid from Kid and Play.

I haven't really cared too much about games recently, and Spec Ops is the only thing I've seen recently that looks interesting
