my friend is looking for a .22 rifle.
he has narrowed it down to two rifles (SO FAR) the gsg-5 (mp5 type .22) and the M&P 15-22 (AR variant in .22) he says he's really leaning towards the M&P 15-22 but wants to make sure of everything. so that's where you guys come in. are these pretty good choices for a guy who's shot plenty of calibers and plenty of firearms? and are there even better rifles than these that you can get in the U.S.? he doesnt have a budget that i know of. but lets try to keep it reasonable. he's looking for the one's eh...around 500-600 dollars. maybe less. maybe more. your turn.

I'd personally pick the M&P. However, the best .22 I have ever come across is the Winchester Model 52. That bastard is literally more accurate than my AR

Ruger 10/22s are inexpensive, good .22s to have.I had one with fiber optic sights and it worked well. Do they want something old school like that, or are they leaning more toward a modern .22 clone of a tacticool design like you mentioned?

well, i dont think he wants a ruger 10/22. i metioned it to him and told him it was a common .22
he said he's going for the modern look.

Well depends on if he has the money. How much can he afford?
