Default The Russians' new fighter

So they finally have a Gen 5 fighter aircraft. Or so they claim...I'm kind of skeptical it'll be as capable as they want us to believe.

I thought they previously already had a Gen 5 fighter in the Su-37 Terminator?

At any rate, this "T-50" looks nearly identical to an F22...

The Su-37 is considered a "4.5" Generation fighter. The airframe is not very stealthy.

The T-50 is sort of an F-22 knock-off, except that it, too, is derived from the Su-27 air frame.

Reminds me of when the Iranians put two tail fins on an F5 and called it "new"...

Yeah, but it's not like the Iranians have ever been known for contributing to the cutting edge of aircraft design. The Russians were, 30 years ago, but a lot of their collective brainpower in the sciences has diminished. Most of their "new" weapons designs (missiles, aircraft, tanks, even small arms) are derived in some way from their Cold War-era stuff.
