Default Vid player that is best for screen capping?

My current one is a bit stupid when it comes to screen capping something. Jetaudio. When I pause and press the cap button, it rewinds and caps a shot 1 second before the shot I paused at. This has been frustrating because I can't do my "perfect" shots anymore and timing it doesn't work.

So I need a new player that is good at capping. Any ideas?

Media Player Classic is my player of choice. Fairly wide range of formats, though it can be a bit tough to set it up for screen capping.

Unfortunantly if that worked for me I would be screencapping as many films as I could find in my local library to make the sorts of pages that are shown as examples of how to properly start a page.

VLC is a pretty useful program for screencapping, especially since it added a built-in screencapping feature and frame-by-frame advancing.
