I'm going to avoid these like the plague, even if Lucas isn't directing. The only thing he cares about today is making more money.

Bad news, everyone, the new Star Wars films won't be based on the Thrawn trilogy:

I didn't seriously think there would be any way they would base it on the Thrawn trilogy, was just a foolish dream. TBH I don't know why any die-hard fans would have assumed this as George Lucas has had the story outline for episodes 7, 8 and 9 since he made the original films. Not sure if this is still the story that they will end up running with, but me current assumption is that they story is only based on the films.

There is a guy at Lucasarts who maintains acontinuity Holocron (database) who basically keeps all of the the parts of the EU straight, retcons things and states what is higher priority canon. He is going to have a fucking seizure when these films come out.

No offense impliead or intended to any of the EU fans out there, but to me, with the exception of the X-Wing series, I was not that big of a fan of all the EU stuff.

Aside from a few of the video games I never really did anything with the EU in.

I am a fan of the expanded Star Wars stuff, and I would be the first to admit that some of it is garbage. When you consider that the series contains hundreds of novels, comic books and games, it isn't all going to be gold. However there is some stuff in there that I really like by a few authors like Michael Stackpole (Rogue Squadron books and "I, Jedi"), Aaron Allston (Wraith Squadron books), Timothy Zahn (The Thrawn trilogy and Hand of Thrawn duology) and Karen Traviss (Republic Commando series).

Oh, don't get me wrong I loved the Rogue and Wraiths, which I lump together under the X-Wing umbrella, and I though Ambush at Bakura along with Shadows of the Empire were good, but other than that, I just sorta shrug and go "meh", and showing my inner nerd here, I read a fair chunk of the EU books, and comics, really loved the ones talking about Col Celchu and the dark, arly days of the Alliance.

Fighting seems a little more tougher than in the previous game. Maybe it's because I kinda suck, but the introduction of the muskets really changes the dynamics of battle when you engage a bunch of guys.

The story seems a little slow to pick up. I thought I was playing Connor's dad forever

Eh, no biggie. I've finished Kingdom Hearts II with its five-hour prologue.

Bring it on.
