banned carrying them for defense, you can still use them for home defense. Or hunting rounds. I remember once a nypd officer was arrested for carrying hollowpoints in new jersey. Its a stupid law.

Now that's stupid when the LEOs are getting into trouble for trying to adequately protect themselves. A cop can get permission and certified to carry a gun on a plane, but civilians can't. Cops to many people are just strangers that we hope are doing their jobs. How's that different from you and me, strangers that are armed and responsible.

No, there's a difference in pretending to do a job you didn't qualify for and just being a responsible armed citizen. I'm not going to pretend to be a firefighter, but if I have a chance to stop a fire or save a life, I can't wait for the "real professionals" show up and before you make a comment about that, no, I am not trying to be a hero either.
And that article really needed to put this down? "Upon arrest, police said they found a Glock 40-caliber handgun loaded with hollow point bullets hidden in Andreu’s waistband. The weapon had a round chambered, police said." What's the purpose of that statement other than saying Glocks are evil in the hands of civilians, 40 caliber handguns are evil in the hands of civilians. Hollow points are evil in the hands of civilians and having a round in the chamber is evil in the hands of civilians.
