Yeah, they are paying for her to go to law school with a direct to captain upon passing the bar. Four years active duty and eight in the reserve.

I was informed, after helping her prep for Maxswell, including dropping a significant chunk of change on give-n-go bikini briefs in black, white, and nude, she decided Air Force lawyers don't mix with Army Cav Scouts.

That's cool.

Also, I finally met Nate Fick tonight. Considering I am a huge fan of "Generation Kill" and "One Bullet Away", I was geeking out. He was really flattered that I liked his book so much.

Oh, man, that's rough. Talk about ungrateful. It seems like everyone I know has a difficult time maintaining relationships in the military. You over it yet?

Actually, that was a while back, new girlfriend, who I reference here all the time, is great! In fact, she should be more properly titled girlfriend(promotable).

Yeah, she could deal with Afghanistan, but not me having no desire to commission.

Sadly, you will have to get used to that...GFs who are always on the lookout for the bigger, better deal. Personally, I think it's better to identify them as such early in the relationship. That way, you can avoid disappointment.

Concur whole heartedly.

She didn't mind standing on the side of a flight line wearing a big floppy hat so long as she thought I was going to be an officer one day.

But when I decided I wasn't going to let hr brow beat me into doing ither ROTC or OCS, she decided to pack her bags.

Fine with me. Didn't want to be her first salute anyway.
