Sig 516
Just got my newest copy of American Rifleman in the mail, and this is its feature article. SIG is making Ar-15s now, no idea why. An already flooded market. They had the 556 which they could just expand the line of, its something different that sets them apart from other companies. Now SIG is like "ME TOO" with this one. Im betting it will be great knowing SIG, but seriously, why when theres so many good ARs out there?

Because SIG wants all of your money. Next thing you know, they'll be making a 1911 type pistol- oh shit, they already do!

Remington hired someone to head the new pistol department there.....yes, remington will be making handguns. Rumor is theyll introduce a prototype at SHOT in january. Most people speculate.....you got it,, another 1911.

Not to mention - think about all the new AR makes/models that have come out since the AWB ended. Have any of them managed to displace the share of the AR market controlled by Colt, Bushmaster, Armalite, and Olympic? |

The 556 is one heavy *****, much too heavy for a .223

I've held the SIG 556 and it is really heavy for a rifle that first 5.56. Recently I've held the newer model with more rails and folding adjustable stock.

Most full sized Ar-15s weigh about as much as an m1a. Its only when you get a pencil-barreled carbine an AR gets light.

First of all, let's not curse excessively. It doesn't make you sound grown-up.
Anyway, coming from a guy who thinks we should still be arming our troops with .308 battle rifles, I find that comment to be rather...ironic. |
