Military Zip Line
Have you guys seen those movies/games like The other guys and battlefield: special forces where they use
a portable zip line to escape? Are those even real? I've never seen one up close. |

You mean portable like you get a crossbow and shoot an arrow into something solid that can hold the line and people coming down it?

Well, I'm sure they exist (one was used in the opening sequence of The Rock), but it's not really that practical a piece of kit from my perspective. A crossbow has little to no practical use in combat today beyond what you see in movies and I'm wouldn't want to be caught in a firefight with 15 pounds (or whatever the average weight for a shoulder-fired CB is) of uselessness slung across my back slowing me down.
