Database Issue

I've been getting this error when I've tried to create a page:

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

(SQL query hidden)

from within function "LinkHolderArray::replaceInternal". Database returned error "1271: Illegal mix of collations for operation ' IN ' (localhost)".

Does anyone know why?

I found out why: the database couldn't process Turkish letters properly - once those were removed, the preview and post functions worked again.
