Remember young one Cougar is really good eating.

Mind you the hunting season is year round and I need to doublecheck the bag limit so I'm not poaching.

I'm I the only person who thinks Twilight-bashing is now fucking stupid?

Well the books were so horrible I couldn't read through more than one chapter and I've read Romance novels before(Trust me when i say that they can be much worse than outright porn.)

It's beating a dead horse if anything. Everybody with half a brain knows how stupid it is, and only dumb tweens and obsessed 40-year-old women enjoy it sincerely. It's all common knowledge now, preaching about how profoundly stupid it is now is just a waste of time. People either know, or disagree.

Back when Twilight bashing was cool though, I went with some friends to see the second one so we could make a mockery of it. We bought 2 small popcorns for each of us, and whenever Edward came on screen, we would throw a popcorn into the air and scream. Many of the viewers were PISSED.

I blame Cracked for any knowledge I have about Twilight. They did an entire plot summary of every book and film soley to make fun of it. That's dedication I could not handle.

I don't diss Robert Pattinson though, because while he plays the most hated sparkle-bitch character in vampire history, he has openly admitted he despises the role, routinely neglected to bathe during the filming of it, and called Stephenie Meyer a crazy bitch who profits off of publishing her wet dreams. He's tried to back out of the last installments to the series, but I'm assuming they payed him a ridiculous amount of money to keep him.

The writing was so horrible because Stephanie Meyer did not have previous writing experience. I know this first hand since the first thing I wrote was a short story about an Indiana Jones-esque ferret in the second grade. I haven't even heard of the books until I was in the seventh grade when I had a friend who was a Twihard. I was really interested into them once I read the premise.

What pisses me off is that some people base the actor's acting ability solely on the goddamn series. I have seen Kristen Stewart's other work (Into the Wild, The Yellow Handkerchief, The Runaways, and The Cake Eaters). It shows that she can be a good actress if she is given the right material. Plus she is now working on an adaption of On the Road, a novel that defined the Beat Generation (which I have on my bookself but have only gotten through the first few chapters). Here's what her co-star Sam Riley says about her:

As for Robert Pattinson, he essentially got his big break in the fourth Harry Potter film. Critic said that he could possibly be the next Jude Law. But along came Twilight and a lot of people started to say that he sucks. He only joined the movie to work with Kristen Stewart (who was recommended for the role for the role by Emile Hirsch, her co-star in Into the Wild). There are two movies that might change a lot of people's perspective of him:

1. Bel Ami, where he is working with two brilliant actors, Phillip Glenister and Colm Meaney.

2. Cosmopolis, where he is working with the great David Cronenberg, the man who got Viggo Mortensen his first Oscar nomination.

And that settles my case.

That's exactly the way that I feel. And I feel the same way about people who can't shut up about Justin Bieber or Ke$ha, or anything that teenage girls are into: Yeah, (insert name here) is shit, but what do teenage girls like that isn't shit? Also, I've known some girls who aren't much older than you guys and like "Twilight". Plenty of them admit that the books and movies suck, but say it's a "guilty pleasure".

I'm not saying anyone needs to like "Twilight" (I sure as hell don't), but bitching about it constantly is, in its own way, extremely annoying. The only thing I find more annoying than teenage girls who like "Twilight" is teenage boys with a superiority complex and identity issues who believe that criticizing the lowest of the low in pop culture demonstrates their superior intellect.

Also (and I apologize in advance for this), can you really say that teenage boys are a whole lot smarter or have better taste? How many of y'all used to read (or still read) Tom Clancy? When I was 13, I used to think he was the paragon of literary genius. But when I was in my early-20s, I tried reading "Rainbow Six" again, and I realized that Clancy is a really bad writer. His characters are extremely one-dimensional and his dialogue is over-loaded with explanation that sounds completely unlike anything a real person would say in conversation. (This is also a problem that plagues Michael Crichton, another author I used to read as a teenager.) Sometimes I think that I could write better novels than Tom Clancy, knowing what I know about politics, terrorism, and the military - and I have never considered myself to be a great fiction writer.
