Default Unusual M4 barrel

I've had this image in my collection for a while. Can anyone tell me what's up with the profile of it? I've never seen an M4 barrel profiled like this ahead of the grenade step.

It's an adapter for a suppressor that sleeves back over the barrel, I believe it is a SureFire CAM4FA556 specifically.
