I have seen a few fragments a few yards in front of the target, but nothing to get worried about. They recommend at least a 10 yards distance. (Which is where I was at.) That spinner plate isn't as easy as it looks. It helped that I painted it a lighter color. I also keep forgetting to grease it so it spins easier. Particularly with 9mm if you don't hit the sweet spot it has a hard time spinning. With a 45 it's rare it won't spin when hit. I feel I've gotten much better with my trigger control, but still need to work with breathing. Yeah it's soft ground with dead leaves all round where I was dropping those mags. I shoot my rifles a little bit above that area and it's harder ground, so I take the mags out by hand.
