The Morita carbine. Cause for a bullpup design, the Morita rifle with the shotgun seems a bit large in my opinion

I think the coolest thing about the Morita was the M60 muzzle break, which gave an impressive star pattern flash. Especially on the shorter Carbine, so I agree with Jacen.

I mean, if that wasn't a plastic shell around another plastic framed weapon, it would have been real heavy and that's just not practical for a rifle of any sort

Technically, if they wanted to, they could build a live firing Morita, couldn't they? I think the recoil from the Ithaca shotgun would break the plastic shell, but the 5.56mm rounds likely wouldn't.

I find it hard to believe I forgot the most awesome fictional weapon of all, the mighty nunchuck gun.

It's times like this when I am sad that I can't find my roll of tape, as I have both guns, and a pair of nunchucks. That is indeed awesome.

Oh, you did an awesome job on the Far Cry 2 page, by the way. It was probably the most fun I had with the game, you know, laughing at it's many weakpoints? Hehe.

It's really hard for me to think of one that tops the M41A Pulse Rifle from "Aliens". I also really like the "M1-L1" pulse rifle from "Deep Rising" and the "Sword/Dagger/Rapier 9mms" from "Romeo & Juliet" (though since those guns are just customized Taurus PT99s, not sure they really qualify as "fictional").

wouldn't you just need to replace the barrel?

If the shell was fiberglass, or high impact resin, should be just fine. Long as the shotgun is mounted properly and isn't shifting inside the shell anyway.

Ah where to start?
Vash's Break open revolver from Trigun
The Cerebus guns from Gungrave
The Casull and Jackal from Hellsing
The Samaritan from Hellboy
Mal's pistol from Firefly
Vincent's triple barrel gun from FF7 and Dirge or Cerebus
