I thought the hardballer had a pretty bad rep....
Personally I dont see much in a 14-round 1911, the capacity is nice, but the slimmer grip is what I like. It just fits right in my hand. Making it wider would just not work for me. |

Yeah, they say the ballistics are the same as a .44, who knows for sure without trying it, but it sure as heck is a beast. And the Hardballer had a bad rap for completely refusing to feed anything but HARDBALL ammo aka an FMJ

Heres a pic of my Colt 1911 that i sold to my Jarhead buddy who insisted on putting on those stupid white grips rather than the sweet ass Pachmayr ones i had. He's using some pretty good ammo, though.

And here she is, my Series '80 Gold Cup.
Not the greatest picture quality, but I took it on a point and shoot camera and have bad lighting where I took the picture. Last edited by RedJedRevolver; 07-01-2009 at 01:09 PM. |

A little late, but I've been having computer trouble. Better post my 1911 before this thread is too dead or my comp passes out again.
It's a plain jane Springfield GI, only I installed a wide spur hammer. It's not a tremendous upgrade, I mostly did it to prove that I could do it and get my foot in the gunsmithing door, but the trigger pull is a bit smoother than with the stock hammer, it's easier to thumb cock, and it looks cooler. |

Winchester, id personally avoid kimber, lately theyve been having problems in the QC department. Also, its rediculously expensive for what you get, many custom guys do better work same price. Ive seen some top notch fusions or a springer custom shop job do just as good.

yea, i think i'll get another 1911. I loved that one, but needed to make the truck payment, so the 1911 had to go.
