Anyway, to resurrect this topic, I recently redesigned my Modular Combat Carbine (a more detailed description can be found on the last post of page 15 of this topic) I created for a PMC story I started writing and, using shapes, blocked out "unneeded" areas on the mock-up FF rail system to make it look a little bit more accurate to the KAC URX II it's standing in for.
Here's one with an EOTech sight Here's one sporting an ACOG with a small red dot optic attached. I used one of the shapes to cover up the rear BUIS and colored it white, then scaled the optic down slightly and sat it on top the ACOG. And just for kicks, here's the shorter CQB-R version with an Aimpoint RDS. The half cut-off PEQ-2 is intended as a mock PEQ-15 laser module, BTW. And before anyone points it out, I left the magazine off on purpose because it looks more "encyclopedic" without it, like the weapon sitting on a display shelf (if that makes sense).

Looks pretty cool. I wonder when PMG is going to finish with the new stuff?

Thanks. I'm particularly proud of how "correct-looking" the RIS came out. The basic idea of it was also applied to a carbine called the M9 in a WW3 story set in 2020 that I'm writing (uh... I've got a number of different stories currently in progress). I may keep these versions even after I redo everything when the update comes (which AFAIK is still on track for release before the end of the year, but I'll find out for sure).
Speaking of which, I think I'll share a couple more preview pics with you all. ^By the looks of this one, I won't have to do anymore RIS mock-ups due to that looking like the very KAC URX II rail system I originally envisioned for my MCC. Then there's also the rainbow of new coloring. ^And here's a new AKS-74U with an NP-1 grenade launcher. ^New SCARs, complete with telescoping butt stocks and correct rear sights (instead of the KAC 600m rear sight used on the current ones). Kick ass.
